After the death of Jesus, “when the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices with which to go and anoint him. And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb just as the sun was rising. They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” (Mark 16:1-3)
Can you imagine if the women decided that the obstacle was just too large and just gave up and didn’t go? Large stones weighing approximately two tons were normally rolled (by means of levers) against a tomb entrance. Instead, because of their faith, the women became the first to witness the risen Christ and were sent to go and tell the good news to the other disciples.
If you think an obstacle is too large then it is too large. If you think something is impossible then it is impossible. None of us knows what we can accomplish until we try. If we dare to think in new and different ways, impregnable walls can come down, impossible solutions can be found and stones too heavy for us to move can be rolled away.
